Guest guest
Hi, My family and I headed to Aberdeen, Scotland a little while ago for a diagnosis by a Behavioural Optometrist for our 3 ys 8 mo son with speech delay/apraxia? - he puts bright lights in his eyes without flinching; he often closes his eyes or squints when walking/running/chasing; he looks at objects very close up with one eye closed and the other very nearly closed; he looks at objects sideways; not able to catch a ball yet but is quite good at throwing. The choice of practicioners is really limited where we live, but we were wondering if any of you have had a helpful diagnosis from such a specialist. He has been assessed as farsighted with +0.5 in both eyes and his tracking was good. Other than that, the level of communication and attention did not allow the specialist to report anything else. He also said our son needs a longer attention span for the exercises. If you see any similarities with your child(ren) could you share any advice please? Thank you, Kasia.
