Hi All,

I was wondering if I could get some feedback...

My district is firing 71 full time instructional aides, to reduce the school

budget, and replacing them with 140 part time aides, so they do not have to pay

for health benefits. A student who currently has one full time aide will have

two part time aides next year. I'm finding a number of Districts in NJ are

planning the same.

Is your school districts doing the same? (y/n) State?

District?

Does your school receive Title 1 funds? (y/n) .

Does your school meet NCLB requirements? (y/n) . All schools in

districts do / do not meet AYP.

How is your district planning on allocating the American Recovery and

Reinvestment Act of 2009: IDEA Recovery Funds for Services to Children and

Youths with Disabilities (ARRA)?

Has anyone been successful in blocking this cut? (y/n) If so how?

Any feed back is appreciated!
