My 6yo was complaining of being hot and wanting to sleep with ice

packs. He also would be sweating when I put him to sleep.

He failed the newborn thyroid screen and then later passed. I've

always been concerned about his thyroid since birth. He appears to

have extra fat around his neck and I've asked several doctors about

it. They all passed it off and have even tested him in the past.

Well since the sweating and ice packs episodes, the doctor did the

following tests, and I need some help understanding the results and

what may be going on.

Free T4 1.04 normal (0.45 - 1.63)

Free T3 3.8 normal (2.0 - 3.5)

TSH 1.64 normal (0.34 - 4.82)

Anti-thyr peroxidase <10 normal (0 - 34)

Antithyroglobulin AB <20 normal (0 - 40)

The DAN doc didn't seem too concerned about the Free T3.

Also, my 8yo doesn't like to sleep with clothes on, especially,

pants and socks, even during the winter.

His thyroid labs are as follow...

Free T4 1.11 normal (0.45 - 1.63)

Free T3 3.3 normal (2.0 - 3.5)

TSH 1.26 normal (0.34 - 4.82)

Could his ratios be off and causing him to get hot at night? I

don't think he sweats.
