Guest guest
I need to know for certain who do I need to get the dx for apraxia from the SP, School Diagnostician, Pediatrician, Specialist or Other Person? I think my son is apraxic but we don't have a dx for sure. My son is 3 and is currently in a PPCD program for 3 years old in the School Co-op district we are in. He is making some progress in his speech but regressing in behavior. I just need some more info about this dx and what is the best program for my son. Please help!!!!!! Guest guest
Kim the fact that your child is showing a breakdown of behaviour tells me that he may not be receiving appropriate therapy or placement. This needs to be resolved as soon as possible. Do you have a private SLP? If not I would suggest we help you find a private SLP that is knowledgeable about apraxia as well as other communication disorders. If apraxia is suspected it would be best to take your child to a knowledgeable pediatric neurologist or developmental pediatrician. What state are you in? Perhaps we can make suggestions.
