Guest guest
Hi everyone, Reading about all the work everyone is doing for their children is really a inspiration...My son is in early intervention/ preschooler with disability .He is turning 3 this month. He is there for behavior ,speech and language delay. I keep telling his teacher that he has trouble with words that he definitely knows like easy comes out e-wa. He loves a song ,listens to it everyday ,that has that word with it and he can say it correctly , then a minute later he can not. If he says a new word ( I get excited ) and say Can you say that again , that was great. He says it again and it is not clear at all. My concern is that his teacher says with repetition , everything will be fine . I feel like without a lot more speech ( he goes 2x a week) , that he will continue to struggle for years. I feel like his teacher thinks its just like other children but its different .He can not say more than one syllable and how is he going to make a sentence if he is forgetting how to say it . To be quite honest, I am unable to see how kids make the jump...So, for any of you that have been through this ...how much speech should he have and should he be doing work with a OT too. Thanks
Guest guest
, You described my 33 month-old son to a T. I'm concerned too, but don't know how else to help him. At times, I do feel immobilized. ________________________________ From: sweetysource <sweetysource@...> Sent: Monday, February 2, 2009 6:31:53 AM Subject: [ ] Looking for advice..........
