Guest guest
Hey All, Good Evening. I hope you all are having a great weekend. My son's AAC specialist is recommending a device to help him continue to grow his vocabulary and social interactions as his speech continues to develop. is 4 with spastic CP, verbal Apraxia, and dysarthria. For the last year he has been using a pecs-based communication book with some success (won't touch it at home but seems to use it a lot at school). is currently at an SDC preschool and will probably be in an SDC kindergarten next year. The specialist (an SLP for Lucile Packard Children's Hospital) recommended either going with the DynaVox V or the Vantage Lite. Does anyone on the list have any experience with either? Any positive or negative reviews would be greatly appreciated. This is our first endeavor in to AAC so we are a bit clueless. Also if there other options we should be looking at, please let me know. I am heading to Europe for the next week and will be researching on the Net while I am out there, so if you do not mind sending me suggestions to my work email which is copied here (aman.bawa@... <blocked::mailto:aman.bawa@...> ), I would greatly appreciate it. Kind Regards, Aman
