Dear Drs. Cutler, Goeke, Goldstein, Klein, Fine and Erwin:

NJCIE has worked in partnership with a committee from The College of New

Jersey (TCNJ) to develop the 7th ANNUAL SUMMER INCLUSION CONFERENCE, 2009,

Reflection-Instruction--Inclusion: Hands-on Solutions for Teachers,

Administrators, Professionals and Families to take place at TCNJ's Brower

Student Center on Wednesday, July 8 and Thursday, July 9, 2009; 8:15 a.m. to

3:15 p.m. We are making a special effort to reach out to the Deans and

faculty members at each of NJ's universities which have education

departments to alert them about the Conference. We also invite you to share

this information with your students as there is a special discount for full

time undergraduate and graduate students ($40 per day). In past years, the

Conference has been attended by from 250 to 350 people, with 90% made up of

general and special education teachers, school administrators, child study

team members and university faculty.

These two interactive and strategy-packed days will feature 21 workshops

focused on including students with disabilities in general education

settings--three times the number of sessions provided in previous years.

Presenters include Dr. Eugene Edgar, The University of Washington; Dr.

Scanlon from the Lynch School of Education, Boston College and Dr.

Frey from San Diego State University as well as many NJ teachers and higher

education faculty members. Strands will include reflective teacher

practice, assessment, assistive technology, including students with learning

disabilities, co-teaching, developing literacy, including students with

complex needs, differentiating instruction, preschool inclusion, inclusion

in urban settings, systems change (for administrators), instructional

design, positive behavioral supports, and the array of inclusive supports

(CST members). Parallel strands on promoting college for youth with

developmental disabilities and including students who are deaf/blind will be

provided by TCNJ's Center for Assistive Technology and Inclusive Education

Studies.

The registration price is the same as last year. There are discounts for

people who register before June 1 ($190 for both Conference days for NJCIE

members; $205 for nonmembers. The brochure and registration form are

attached. The brochure can also be downloaded from NJCIE's website at

http://njcie.net . Please feel free to contact us at 732-613-0400 or

njcie@... if you have any questions. Professional development credits

of up to 5.5 hours per day are available. This Conference has been endorsed

by the NJEA Professional Development Institute. ASHA CEUs are also

available.

Best Regards,

a Lieb
