I know a lady who said her midwife told her that all viruses pull so much

Vitamin C and Vitamin A that it creates a serious deficiency. Perhaps it is

such deficiencies that cause birth defects. If I knew I had been exposed to

a virus, I believe I would supplement both Vitamins C and A. With the C, I

wouldn't be too worried about large therapeutic doses, but with the A I'd

definitely research to find out a " safe " dosage amount for a pregnant woman.

Large doses of Vit C are not great in pregnancy either. Yes, if they are

clearly indicated but babies can be born basically 'addicted' to it. Of

course all you need do is give them a bit and wean them and I would rather

have my baby addicted to Vit C than harmed in irreparable ways from

pharmaceuticals.

Forgot the study I read about this in. Its been several babies ago.

This is interesting. My doc knew nothing of chickenpox and said I got

them at the best point in pregnancy which was entirely wrong. The

latest research (you know I looked:) showed when I got them was the

optimal time for my baby to be harmed the most. Not to mention the odds

against me were not great...probably worse with the celiac. While my

doc performed 4 abortions the day my daughter was born (I know because

her birth was an emergency and disrupted the schedule they had in

place) she was not one of them.

Some kids were meant to be here for sure and oh what a story they have.
