Guest guest
Just read this on Twitter...I know that LKS can affect speech due to the seizures, but " language comprehension " ? It's so difficult to access receptive ability with a communication impairment -how do they know. Parents here who have kids with LKS- agree/disagree? Oh and PS -Dr. a Tallal actually told me there is no 100% accurate receptive test for a verbal impaired individual. Guest guest
When it was suspected my son had LKS I researched it a lot. LKS and other seizure disorders can also cause aphasia (epileptic aphasia) which certainly do impact language. Damage to Broca's Area or seizure activity in that area in particular can cause both apraxia and aphasia. These have all been suspected issues for my son who in addition to apraxia has language issues.
