Guest guest
Hi, We have Cigna Open Access and live in NJ. Our insurance is self funded by my husband's company. Starting this January, we submitted speech therapy claims for the diagnosis codes of 784.60 and 784.50 an used 92507 as CPT. The first month's claims were reimbursed but all of a sudden, the claims started to be denied. When I called the customer service and spoke with a supervisor, she told me that Cigna wouldn't cover speech therapy services unless it's restorative in nature. That means, the person actually has to have suffered some sort of brain trauma injury or was speaking and lost the ability to speak. She told me that they wouldn't cover Apraxia, either. I wanted to reach the group and ask if there are any Cigna members ot there who were able to get reimbursement for Speech Therapies. I will appreciate a lot if you can let me know which Diagnosis Codes you used to be able to get speech coverage from Cigna. Thank you very much!
