Hello

I do not post often but my 4 yr old son also has ADHD. He is in county Pre-K and

will be again next year. His speech is doing great. His IEP also includes his

ADHD, some examples on his IEP are " N will attend to a less desired, teacher

direct task for 7 minutes " " N will attend to a desired task for 10 minutes " . " N

will participate singing song and doing hand motions 4 ot of 5 times " They also

know that he needs to run, play in the gym and march around. His IEP is more

focused on attention and giving him the skills to help him be in a class rome

and be sucessful. He tested very high and even when it looks like he isn't

paying attention he is~!! He is just turning 4 next month and knows all his

months, days of the week, is very interedted in weather. Understand how plants

grow ( the current unit at school). He is so past counting and ABC's. He has

great word recognition and some days as he sees words you would thing he is

reading, in a way I guess he is! So YES. Your child needs these things on his

IEP. Maybe get him DX'd for ADHD but also see an o/t to see if he has any

sensory issues. The school may be more open to this than just an ADHD DX. I hope

I helped!!
