Guest guest
, I took my daughter's pacifier away when she was about 27 months because I was afraid the binky was hindering her speech and I read all the time they should be gone by age 3 to avoid ruining their teeth. I found it easier I guess to do since she was only using it at bed and naptime but the first few nights she cried and cried, saying inky inky inky. I felt horrible but told her she was a big girl and didnt need it. She is fine now and 3. [sPAM][ ] Getting rid of pacifiers and speech Hi all, We're planning to get rid of our kids' pacifiers over spring break. I'm a bit worried that when we take the pacifiers away, we might see regression in speech, behavior, etc. Right now, the binkies are only used during naps and at night, so it's not constant, but I'm still concerned about potential regression problems, especially since the pacifier has been such a calming factor to assist in falling asleep over these past 3 years. I know we have to get rid of the pacifiers sooner or later, and I figure now's as good of time as any, but I'm still anxious. Has anyone gotten rid of pacifiers during the late toddler/preschool years, and did you see any changes in your child, especially in regards to speech? I'd definitely appreciate any suggestions or advice. Many thanks!!!
