Hello all,

I am so happy to have found this group. Monday my DD speech teacher

told me that he has diagnosed her with verbal apraxia. I walked out

of the meeting feeling pretty good that we had an answer to why she

is not talking. Now after doing a little research I am feeling very

overwhelmed, her teacher already recommended apraxia-kids.com. My

DD turns 3 on the 5th and we have our first IEP meeting with the

school district on the 2nd.

My question for you ladies of experience, by that I mean that you

have already been in my shoes, what is next? Her only issue is

speech, or lack of it. There is no autism or anything else that we

know of, evals are still out. I had been thinking all along that

she just did not talk b/c she didn't need to with her brother doing

all the talking. She tested average or above average in fine motor

skils and gross motor skills. Hearing and vision are great too.

She has no eating or swallowing issues, receptive language is high.

Where do I go from here?

TIA,

Kymberly
