Guest guest
Hello! I'm looking for the mom of Dr. Moerschall's other patient who has apraxia. I want to thank you so much!!! When I first voiced concern to Dr. Moerschall 8 months ago that my son (18 months at the time) had apraxia, she was very firm that apraxia could not be diagnosed until a child was at least 3 years old. I tried to tell her about The Late Talker, but she was busy and I didn't want to push it. She told me that Dominic did not have apraxia, but I should enroll him in Birth to Three. By the time his two year check up came around, the Birth to Three SLP had confirmed my suspicion and a developmental pediatrician had made an official diagnosis not only of apraxia but also of suspected celiac in my son and my hubby (a two for one!). She also ordered tests. Since she does not take insurance, I asked Dr. Moerschall to please order the tests. I explained that I put him on the omega supplements and he had a language burst almost immediately afterward. She told me it must have been the speech therapy but I insisted that I started the Pro-EFA and EPA BEFORE speech therapy began. She did not order the tests and told me in the nicest way possible that she thought the developmental pediatrician was in it for the money. To make a long story short. After providing studies and research, she ordered some of the tests and during our visit today she seemed to finally get it. She even asked if I knew about Cherub and had read The Late Talker. You could have knocked me over with a feather. I know it is all due to you and I want to thank you so much!! I feel like she's on my side now and and that she's trying to help us. We have a DC area support group now and I'd love it if you joined us. We're going to have our first face-to-face meeting soon. Please email at NA681@.... Thank you again!! Sincerely, les
