Janice I included my message below about Xbox Live. There are a

number of " friends " that are on their play list that are neighbors or

class friends -but then there are others as well. We do watch and

can tell you the boys refer to each other while they play by their

code names. You can tell how trained I have my boys because even

when interviewed him he knew not to use his neighbor's names -

even first names. The problem is that the boys are all playing older

games -so that in itself I do have a problem with. But on the other

hand this has helped level the playing field for Tanner where he

kicks booty against kids that are his brother's friends sometimes 4

years older. Yesterday for example we had 3 of their friends over

and one is his age -but the other two (plus his brother) are 12 and

14 -and they are all friends. There are times I hear them fight a

bit -but Tanner's a tough kid -he'll fight right back and it's not a

bully type fight it's more normal. If you want to teach a child how

to stand up for them self there's not much of a better place to do

this than in the privacy of your home where you can sit there and

listen and help if needed- but the other kids don't know.

Yes the concern is child predators and both my boys are well aware

there is voice changing software and some creepy people out there.

For the most part now however both my boys play with the same thirty

something people that they play with all the time. And yes Glenn and

I do listen in - the doors always open for that!

Probably however the most dangerous thing my boys did yesterday is

that we went out in the boat and Dakota who thinks he is superman or

something tried to jump from the pier to this ledge where one of his

friends was because " he didn't want to have to walk around " the other

friend! He lost his balance and fell 4 feet and thank God he's not

hurt. We had a crowd around him however while we all checked him

out. After asking do I call 911 (on one of phones) I was so mad at

him because him and his friends play this new game Parkour -which

don't even YouTube it or it's freak you out -and he claimed that

wasn't what he was trying to do. To me Parkour is much scarier than

XBox Live -but Glenn doesn't think so! (he says it's just a mother

thing)

OK here's what parkour is

http://www.americanparkour.com/content/view/221/325/

It's kind of like a running and falling and getting up to a run

again -hard to explain.

but here's where it can go to if people get stupid about it -and how

it can be dangerous

Walking with the boys they just hop over things like it's nothing and

keep walking. Tanner BTW does not even try parkour -thank god for

apraxia in this case!!

So yes I agree to do what we can to help keep us healthier -but no

way I won't be carrying around my cell phone with a bunch of boys!

Guess I worry about more concrete things...like concrete!
