Hi There,

My son is 2 and has servere apraxia. His birthday is in August so the process

to transition him out of EI into public preschool is starting. We have our

first meeting on May 6th. We live in Indiana and I am trying to find Indiana

law guidelines for Apraxia services through the school district.

He has been recieving therapy (60 min 1x a week) through Indiana's EI since

August 2008, but not good therapy and the therapist doesn't believe he has

Apraxia. He IFSP says he has a " speech delay " .

He has also been recieving therapy at St. Xavier's Ludden Speech Clinic in

Illinois (we live on the border). We attended their spring semester session

which just ended last week. Their evaluation states he has servere Childhood

Apraxia of Speech. At the semester end conference last week the supervising

therapist and master's student (who has been working with him) overloaded me

with requests I should make to the school district at these meetings. One was

that he should recieve the max amount of minutes for apraxia therapy that

Indiana allows. I can't find this info, and since she works in Illinois she

doesn't know what it is.

I am looking for a resource that has this information.

Thanks!
