Guest guest
Were the goals carried over? If so, why were they not accomplished before? Then I would also address what can be done to better ensure completion? It sounds that your daughter is not receiving FAPE. Also the described program does not sound as if it is individualized for her unique needs. Check out these web sites _www.fetaweb.com_ (http://www.fetaweb.com) & _www.wrightslaw.com_ (http://www.wrightslaw.com) for more helpful info about IDEA & the IEP process. Knowledge is very powerful! Could your private SLP make recommendations for you to share with school system? Just an idea that might help secure services from the school. Hope this info will help. **************Dell Mini Netbooks: Great deals starting at $299 after instant savings! Guest guest
Hi Caroline, You posted here previously about your daughter's situation. My suggestion is that since you obviously are struggling with your daughter's schooling situation, you should call your local parent advocate center and request an educational advocate to attend meetings with you. This person is someone versed in the special education laws and can assist the parent in navigating the process. You should be able to google online or look in the phone book where these parent advocate centers are and call. You can also call Legal Aid and request representation as well. Hope that helps.
