Guest guest
I went to this beautiful website and could not stop the tears. It was incredible to see all the caring and concern around the world. Noticeably absent was France. I don't find that unusual since they have been reported to have sold weapons and technology to these extremists. My husband is in the 3rd ID. He is in the Army Band and we have had people laugh when we told them that the 3rd ID Band was in Desert Storm. One person said " What do they do, catch bullets in their tubas? " Army bandsmen (and women) are trained soldiers and do perimeter defense in war zones as well as recon. is also trained as a supply sgt. and combat lifesaver. The 3rd ID is listed as 3rd to be called up to go should we require ground troops. I am not looking forward to that. I am terrified to be honest. This man is the love of my life and the best father in the world. He is 's hero and he deserves that. I have loved him since I was 6 years old and still do at 46. The 3rd ID Band was the only unit serving in Desert Storm who got no time off to be with their families after the tour was over. They had to do their job and play welcoming ceremonies for all the troops returning. Their service was unappreciated. I am an old hippie too, but I also sometimes see the need to do the right thing. We have never faced an enemy willing to kill civilians with impugnity. One of the " experts " on tv this morning on the Middle East said these people weren't " crazy " but logical, educated, and meticulous. Well IMHO sociopaths are all these things as well and no one will deny that they are crazy. Many civilizations who become complacent and anti violence have learned the lesson that the barbarians always win. I would love to see an end to violence in the world and do not want my husband in this mess but I don't see it happening. I just got one that included the prime minister of France, along with the Pope. Also, many Palestinian school children.
