Guest guest
Hi everyone. Yesterday the SLP mentioned that she'd bring her zvibe to my son's next session because she doesn't think that the vibrating teether (which he tolerates well) and the electric toothbrush (which he only tolerates occassionally) I got him are giving him enough oral stimulation. He's has issues with vibration since he was an infant so I'm not sure how far she's going to get with having my orally defensive son accept into his mouth something that vibrates worse than his electric toothbrush. It has taken working with him for two weeks to get him to put it in his mouth for more than 2 seconds and he doesn't always tolerate it. You have to catch him when the mood is right. My question is, should I just go ahead and buy a z-vibe and some tips? If I can get him used to it a little every day, I think I can work him up to accepting it (like his electric toothbrush). Otherwise, I'm afraid that SLP is going to get nowhere if she tries to get him to use it the one time a week she sees him. thanks -les
