Guest guest
Hi there - I recently joined the group and live in Texas. My daughter is six and has issues with coordination (dyspraxia), sensory processing, and speech - coordinating her mouth and tongue-tie correction (whatever the labels are, that's what it boils down to :-). She's in Speech and OT. Been reading about Fish Oil efforts and here's what I found - My kid hates juice, and the idea of getting fish oil in her from a capsule would be a nightmare, so talked with some moms down here and have found two products for kids with pharmaceutical grade Omega 3 (EPA amounts vary between the two products) that can be ordered online. They are: Coromega High DHA Omega 3 Supplement for Kids - this is a little packet of Lemon-Lime " goo " that they squeeze/suck out of the packet - maybe 1/2 tsp. This is what I give my daughter (and son since it sure can't hurt him either) and it has: Fish Oil 850mg - EPA 36mg, DHA 200mg. Both my kids LOVE it! ALLERGY NOTE - a friend of mine couldn't use this because her son is allergic to eggs and it has pasturized egg yolk in it. I also have found online Omegabrite KIDZ - this is a High EPA Supplement that is orange flavored. Comes in liquid or gel. Apparently kids love it and it's a very small amount to give: Here's a link to the site and info: High EPA Omega-3 Supplement ¼ Teaspoon (1.25ml) Delivers 475mg of EPA Great flavor Pharmaceutical Grade liquid fish oil Natural Triglyceride Form 120 Day Supply Manufactured in a pharmaceutically licensed facility Suggested use: Children (age 6 and up) dose: Take 1/4 teaspoon daily, with a meal. Adult dose: Take 1/2 to 1 teaspoon daily, with a meal. Refrigerate after opening to maintain freshness. Contains no sugar, salt, starch, yeast, wheat, gluten, corn, milk, egg or preservatives. http://www.omegabrite.com/products/liquid.html Hope that helps! Would appreciate what people know about the difference between DHA and EPA and why high EPA is preferred. :-)
