Guest guest
We have used CSM on both my kids and myself. It worked great for a variety of issues. Constipation, attention, sleeping, aggitation, and reflux with my son. I found it to give me more energy, I slept better and could think more clearly. It was recommended to me that we use a trained CSM person from the Upledger Institute. I believe they have a website that lists all practitioners that have taken the necessary courses. I highly recommend it. Guest guest
We live in the Denver area and have done craniosacral therapy for the past 8 months. Dr. Harold Magoun Jr. is our doctor and we are very happy with him. His book " Structured Healing " is also another place where you can get info on how to find a good Dr. in your area. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi there. My name is and I have a 6 year old son diagnosed with global dyspraxia, hypotonia, acid reflux, hiatal hernia, seizure disorder, dysphagia (swallowing disorder), many sensory and slow processing issues, and an irregular heartbeat.?? We are just starting to look into craniosacral therapy as a PT at the therapists office he goes to really feels that she can help him.? She doesn't currently work with him, but told me the other day that she would really love to, because she feels that she could really help.? Has anyone had any experience with this before?? Guest guest
+ , Your son sounds like my son as he has all of the issues your son has except he has no seizures. We have done cranial sacral therapy and it can be very helpful. I would suggest that instead of a cranial sacral therapist a cranial osteopath would be more beneficial. A cranial therapist's work doesn't seem to " hold " to position and therefore warrants returning for more therapy, forever it seems. A cranial osteopaths work will " hold " . I have been to both and this has been my experience and also the experience of one of my son's therapists. Here is a website that will help you find a cranial osteopath www.cranialacademy.com. I highly recommend them. Regarding the acid reflux and the hiatal hernia, the acid reflux comes from a couple of things, one being the hiatal hernia. It's possible the cranial osteopath can pull that down. Many people are unaware of this and end up taking anti acids and other meds. to help the acid reflux, which in fact make matters worse. Slippery Elm, taken in powdered form, will help build the lining in the esophagus thus preventing the backup from the stomach. I hope this helps. I personally have used these strategies with my son with excellent results. God bless you with you search to help your son. Guest guest
+ I had forgot to mention that my son also had an irregular heartbeat which was rectified by balancing his minerals, most importantly, calcium, potassium, and magnesium. Our bodies are electrical so an imbalance of the minerals can disrupt the natural rhythm of the heart. Most arrhythmia are caused by an imbalance of these minerals. No need for heart meds, in a lot of cases. Guest guest
, in response to your sons irregular heart beat, I'm sure you've checked it out with a medical dr.BUT, I have irregular heartbeats which they said are not serious after looking at my ekg--but they didn't give me any advice other than staying away from any caffeine, including chocolate, and being well hydrated--which also would help. But one day I was on hold with NORDIC NATURALS(where I buy our fish oils) and they had a recording saying any DR. would be neglgent if they did not tell any patient to take fish oils and taurine for irregular heartbeats(probably for the begnign kind like mine). So I started taking the same fish oils as my daughter and taking 500mg of taurine 2 times a day to start, then decreased it and it really stopped the episodes. I don't take them all the time now, but if it starts again, usually with great fatigue and stress I take the combo and it stops--just a bit of info I learned accidentally. Guest guest
Hi , we started cranial therapy with my son last year. We have noticed results and my son actually asks to go to see " dr t " . He seems a little calmer, focuses better and his speech seems to be more complex (he's 9). I think that everything we've done seems to compliment each other. (omegas, bio screening, cranial and speech therapy). We still can't get over how my son, who never sits still, just lies on the table totally relaxed. I'm glad we're doing it. sandy ________________________________ From: " Racinnuts@... Guest guest
My son received craniosacral therapy when he was 3 and he seemed to be more focused afterwards. We tried again when he was older and he didn't seem to enjoy it and didn't want to lay on the table so we quit it. I am personally receiving CST along with acupuncture to treat back pain. It absolutely relieved the pain. Can't say that I've noticed that CST has any significant effect but I DO enjoy relaxing on the table for half an hour mid-day! :-) Randi (mom to handsome Graham, 13 yo CP for lack of a better diagnosis, hypotonia, AAC & AT user, Founder www.SayitwithSymbols.com) Find meaningful gifts for teachers and therapists at www.SayitwithSymbols.com/giftshop.html

If he could be focused and that was the only thing that it helped with...it would be worth it...He is all over the place.? He can go from one thing to ten others in a matter of 15 minutes.? He has very very limited interests...and trying to get him to focus on something that is a bit more challenging, is very hard! Thanks again! Guest guest
Hello, I'm a. I have two daughters. A nine year old with ADHD and several food allergies. NAET (naet.org) cured her food allergies/acid reflux, diarrhea. We are still struggling with ADHD, but are also doing CST. My five year old had verbal apraxia and undiagnosed food allergies. She's also having CST. With many supplements, speech therapy, reading tutoring, alternative methods, the road has been tough but worthwhile. Just don't put all your eggs in one basket. God bless your journey! It's a true miracle that my girls can eat almost anything now without a problem.. About 15 months ago, we were in a much different place. Just make sure to give your child all the confidence and love they deserve. Don't get burned out. We've tried vision therapy, which ended up being a waste of time, but what works for one doesn't work for another child. Krissy Oh yeah...attending. ..I forgot to add adhd to the list of things we are dealing with!?? Guest guest
My advice is NOT to see a " chiro " . Craniosacral therapy is much gentler, less dangerous, more effective and has many other benefits. Make sure to use a practitioner who does ONLY CST, not just adds it on as a " side dish " . Guest guest
We did both. If torticollis, chiro is a great addition. Wish I had gone that route and only added it later. Many have resolved tort with out chiro. Just my experience. Guest guest
Must add, if torticollis, you have to stretch the tight side and strengthen the week side. Lots of pt and home pt so resolve. Really annoying because it can be haunting. Reverse with growth spurts. It was about a one year journey for use, but we had a severe case cause in utero. Guest guest
You don't perform CST _for_ a particular symptom. You allow the body to work through restrictions in fascia and muscle on its own. Complete release of _any_ restriction is within the realm of expectation. Guest guest
My son has an ear with permanent damage from his position in utero. Also facial asymmetry along with torticollis. We also did the DOC and STAR Band to correct head shape issues. Wasn't fun. But if doctors could have diagnosed his issues sooner, they more educated, the torticollis could have been worked on from day one and plagio would have never happened. His facial asymmetry was present at birth and we saw many specialist to make sure he was " fine " . Was, just I did a number to his head in utero, he was even c-section. Thankfully second baby, no head issues and a totally different pregnancy. Donna - please look at torticollis. It can come/go with growth spurts. At 4 months, your not even sitting up yet. That's when you really notice and it affects both fine and gross motor skills. Tammy [ ] Craniosacral Therapy Thanks to all who responded to my query regarding CST. I should have been more specific in that ds DID have a problem with his neck muscles when he was 4mth old due to only wanting to sleep on one side(wouldn't seem to settle on his other side and also made his ear cartlidge become mishaped),..took a few weeks to eventually loosen up his neck muscles and be able to turn his head to both sides. He hasn't a problem at all with his neck muscles now so doesn't need to see a Chiropractor. Was just wondering whether CST would help loosen things up a bit because of the damage already done as a baby... I can't get over the fact that something so simple as CST cured this boy in this video..like 2 completely different people from a 4 yr old to a grown man. Please watch, or look it up on youtube. Guest guest
I would also lean towards a NUCCA practitioner for that. They will do xrays, but if there is something wrong there, it will be corrected and then you can move on to cranial sacral. If there is an issue with upper cervical bones/alignment, you could spend much more time recorrecting the symptoms but not addressing the problem with cranial sacral. Does that make sense? This is interesting: http://www.erinelster.com/CaseStudies.aspx?ConditionID=27 I think both have a place in healing issues such as these. I can try to explain better but I am fighting off a flu - you can call me at home at 1-22HEAL-KIDS (i can never remember the actual number).
