Guest guest
I UNDERSTAND! I had a bunch of this to deal with too... so, what I did was to purchase the Hope Speaks: An Introduction to Childhood Apraxia of Speech DVD from CASANA website to show family members who were in denial and/or didn't understand. I believe it helped them " get it. " Good luck! I know it is difficult when you have people fighting you on the diagnosis and/or treatment. Guest guest
What was the explanation? Why do you think so many of our kids have problems with speech? When my 11 year old was 3, his speech therapist asked me if there were speech disorders in our family, I told her no. She was surprised because she said 90% of speech disorders are inherited and usually the other 10% are due to strokes or accidental injuries. It has always haunted me that my first boy recovered from his speech disorder and my second hasn't. I keep wondering why. > > I UNDERSTAND!
