Guest guest
Hi my name is Kerri, I live in Michigan and I just joined today. My daughter's speech teacher just brought Apraxia up to us Friday at our daughters IEP. With watching the internet video's and reading all I can, I am convinced is an Apraxia child. We are going to have her tested asap. is 10, adopted from Ukraine 3 years ago and was placed in the orphanage after she was taken away from her grandfather for being " mentally retarded " . We soon figured out that was very bright and her only problem was speech delay. We were beginning to wonder why it was taking so long for her " catch on " to the English language and speech. I am very excited to have found out for Apraxia and this group. For those that live in Michigan, is there another place besides Kauffman center that " treats " Apraxia? Any information would help. Anything parents do at home to help? Thank you Kerri
