The foundation provides grants to families to help pay for child healthcare services such as speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy sessions, prescriptions, and medical equipment such as wheel chairs, orthotics, and eyeglasses. Parents and legal guardians may apply for grants of up to $5,000 each for medical services and equipment by completing an online application. Guest guest
I wanted to mention you must submit receipts and invoices to get reimbursed. You don't get a check for your grant amount in full or anything like that. It takes 3 weeks from when I send in my documentation for me to get reimbursed. They say it may take up to 4 weeks for them to reimburse you. > > > > The United Healthcare Children's Foundation (UHCCF) has announced that > > new > > grants are available to help children who need critical healthcare > > treatment, services, or equipment not covered or not fully covered by > > their parents' health benefit plans. > > > > The foundation provides grants to families to help pay for child > > healthcare services such as speech therapy, physical therapy, > > occupational > > therapy sessions, prescriptions, and medical equipment such as wheel > > chairs, orthotics, and eyeglasses. > > > > Parents and legal guardians may apply for grants of up to $5,000 each > > for > > medical services and equipment by completing an online application. > > For > > an application and more information go to: > > > > www.uhccf.org/apply_applicant.html > > <http://www.uhccf.org/apply_applicant.html> > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Do you have to have United Healthcare to get this or can you have any insurance? What if your insurance pays for part of speech (80% of the " allowable benefit " ) but you have to pay for the rest when you are out of network? Guest guest
I just applied. They called me and will have a decision by the end of november. I am praying we get it. Right now we are paying approx 600.00 per week for therapies and they want to add 3 more we can't pay for. You basically need to show that your health insurance does not cover it. Pray for us. -------------- Original message from rdbadge@...: -------------- Has anyone used this grant and received money? Guest guest
No I actually have Aetna HMO right now. The grant may be used to reimburse you for co-pays and the balance you have to pay when you are out-of-network too. > > Do you have to have United Healthcare to get this or can you have any > insurance? Guest guest
you're very fortunate that you qualify for something like this. We're paying $1,000/wk right now out of pocket for Asa's therapy-- and to add to that of course we're paying the $1200/mo for the health coverage that DOESN't cover the therapy. LOL It's so crazy isn't it? bek In a message dated 10/22/2008 7:49:15 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, taranowakowski@... writes: I just applied. Guest guest
We are also paying 1200.00 per month for insurance cobra coverage. I get so angry that our state offers basically nothing for my daughter. We just moved to Georgia and the babies can't wait program stinks. They don't even have any therapists in my area. When we were in Florida my daughter received 8 therapies a week through the state and Joe Dimaggios childrens hospital grants. They have nothing like that here. We are also trying to get the Beckett Waiver which I guess is a medicaid. When we applied for ssi we were denied because of income .. Also, in Florida if we did have to pay for therapy they gave us discounts for cash paying (even at the hospital) 60.00 per visit here nobody will do that and we arre paying 120.00 per therapy. It's crazy. Good luck to you. I hope maybe after the election there will be changes made to health insurance coverages. We could only wish. -------------- Original message from tbniesh@...: -------------- you're very fortunate that you qualify for something like this.
