Guest guest
What kinds of difficulties is your child having? When my DD was younger she had issues with balance and even feeling her body in the correct way regarding her balance. She screamed in fear when she learned to sit, stand, walk, and even until about 6 months ago was VERy fearful of our driveway that had a slight incline. Any type babalance/movement things were (and still sometimes are) hard for her. She also tended to fall a lot and will be missing a front tooth until she is 6 or 7 due to one of her big falls.... We did a lot of tossing her around in cirlces, upside down, bouncing on a ball, slowly getting her used to the swing on a swing set, etc (all through OT when she was younger) We also brushed her and did joint compressions during this time too.... She is so much more at ease with these things than she used to be. I hope this is useful for you as i am not sure what kinds of issues you are running into. Today she loves to run up and down the driveway fearlessly and mommy is not so worried about her falling either.... > > > does anyone have any experience with thier child having an immiture vistibular system?? darcy cesario > > >

Guest guest
Who is the proper person to go to evaluate for vestibule system? None of my son's professionals mention vestibule being a problem for my son but I suspect that it is. He always has difficulty getting on the swings in the park. He PT wrote " requires frequent verbal cues to visually scan his environment to avoid obstacle. Thank you, . Darcy, Yes, my son has an immature vestibule system. It is important to do lots of OT. Guest guest
I believe the OT will evaluate the vestibular system during an initial eval and track progress through the therapy sessions. The neurologist would be able to assess it but may not routinely do it. Hope that helps.
