I don't believe it is, but it is a serious issue in its own right and you should

learn about it and manage it appropriately. Which may or may not involve taking

your doctor's advice.

Cant help you with that specific one. We've been taking my 8dd to a Pediatric

Genetics Dr for five years. He's in NYC and the head of the dept. we just saw him

last week. They have been very helpful in connecting the lines between families.

Find a good one who will take all the history of both sides of the family and do

some blood tests on your son to see if he has any of the same issues that you

have discovered in yourself. dont feel guilty about what may have been passed

onto him.

At every visit we see the Genetics counselor that goes over the history and than

the doctor comes in...with his team of fellows behind him. He goes over her

history and takes a picture of her for his record. He used to take polaroids and

has finally switched to digital pics! good luck.

Hi Sharon, I inherited Factor V Leiden from my mom and we both never had a

DVT. They found it after I had repeated misscarriages and then tested the

rest of the family. My apraxic daughter is negativ for it. Don't know how it

relates to autism.
