Guest guest
Thank you for your response, Glen. Honestly, I don't know who I. Gerdjieff is. Can you expand my horizon, please? Thank you for bringing up this very important part of our existence. Synchronicity is the key to accomplishing our goals. Paying attention by listening carefully allows us to know when to respond in order to be synchronistic. The Celestine Prophecy by Redfield is a great book that speaks about synchronicity and intuition. The movie is now on video rental. Of course, the book is much more powerful than the movie. Your voice is not a small one, Glen. And neither is anyone else's in the Lyme community. If each individual in the Lyme community gives away to someone else their own God-given right to make decisions for themselves, then the Lyme community is indeed quite ill, and ill with something more than tick-borne infections. Your voice, Glen, speaks loudly and clearly, and I thank you for that. LymeAngl always says this, " Knowledge is power. " She is so right. If we allow a handful of individuals to withhold kowledge and information from us and accept the little tidbits of filtered information they throw our way, then we have relinquished our power to these few individuals. You can relate that to any government or any organization of any kind. In the movie " All the Kings Men " , Penn plays a politician in Louisiana who represents the forgotten and downtrodden people. He explains that the corporations don't have the power, it's the people who do, and the people gave the power to him as their leader. This is a concept appropriate for the Lyme patient community. Search your minds and hearts and be very certain about which leaders you turn your power/knowledge over to. If you are looking for someone to care for your needs, you check their references, right? Wouldn't you look at their previous accomplishments as it specifically relates to your situation? How long have they been doing this particular type of work? What has been their stance on issues important to you? Have their actions coincided with their words? What does your intuition tell you about the direction you as an individual should take? It is my personal opinion that governments or organizations who provide scraps of information to masses of people do so to perpetuate the " Dumbing Down " of the masses. The less we know, the less we will question and the more we will blindly follow and support these governement or organization ACTIONS. My message to the lyme community is to not relinquish your power to ANYONE else. It's great to support ACTIONS, but know exactly what those actions are and exactly how they are being carried out. Then our support of ACTIONS will be strong informed support made by thoughtful independent individuals, not weak support through blind obedience of the masses who don't have a clue as to where they are actually being led, yet stretch forth their hands to be pulled through the darkness. Thank you, again, Glen. By the way, do you know if is still in office? Best Wishes, Tina J. President L.E.A.P. Arizona Lyme Education Awareness Program www.leaparizona.com P.O. " Now!!! There's a quote I can bite into!!! Ala, especially the word " sheeple " - Do I get a sly hint of the language of I. Gerdjieff here? If not intentional, that a quite synchronistic to say the least. Let me second the motion and add my small calculated voice to this enlightened message. Glen in NJ. Guest guest
Thank you, Jan. Perhaps the LDA representative who sent out the original request, or Pat herself, could shed a lot more light on this subject. Does anyone know Ms. 's email address? I would be willing to contact her to ask for clarification. Sincerely, Tina J. President L.E.A.P. Arizona Lyme Education Awareness Program www.leaparizona.com P.O. Burke -- the long-standing equitable education funding case being handled by the Education Law Center. At issue is the constitutionality for students in Abbott districts of the State's new school funding formula. The NJSEP brief will address how the new funding formula will affect students receiving special education services in Abbott districts. In January 2008, the State Legislature enacted a new school funding formula that radically changed the way the State funds special education. Rather than basing funding upon the specific number of children receiving special education services in each district, the State has now adopted a " census model " and will provide aid based on the statewide average rate of special education classification (14.69%), even if a district classifies students for special education services at a rate in excess of that statewide average. In addition, the amount of funding is no longer based on the specific needs of individual students with disabilities, but rather on the statewide average cost for educating students with disabilities ($10,898 above the general education share). In other words, districts are provided with $10,898 (as well as the general education share) for 14.69% of their students, even if well more than 14.69% of their students are classified, and even if the costs of educating those students far exceeds $10,898 (plus the general education share) per student. Many districts have a greater percentage of classified students than the State average. As a result, those districts will receive less money per classified student than other districts that have a smaller percentage of classified students. This system will encourage districts to de-classify, or refuse to classify, many eligible students, or to inappropriately serve students. NJSEP intends to advise the Supreme Court that these inequities violate the New Jersey Constitution, as well as federal and state special education laws. If your organization is willing to join NJSEP's efforts by being an amicus curiae, please e-mail a one paragraph description of your organization and your organization's interest in this case to Mamone of Cole Schotz Meisel Forman & Leonard, P.A. at Jmamone@..., or fax it to Mamone at (201) 678-6217. A sample amicus description is attached. If you have any questions, please contact Ciccone of New Jersey Protection & Advocacy, Inc. at (609) 292-9742 or Ruth Lowenkron of the Education Law Center at (973) 624-1815, ex. 21 (voice) or 973-624-4618 (TDD). Thanks! DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED AMICI CURIAE 1. THE NEW JERSEY SPECIAL EDUCATION PRACTITIONERS ( " NJSEP " ) is a statewide association of attorneys and other advocates who practice in the area of special education in New Jersey. NJSEP is primarily focused on matters related to the representation of parents and children under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act ('IDEA') and the Americans with Disabilities Act ('ADA'). NJSEP advocates in a host of areas affecting the rights of students with disabilities, and has recently been most active advocating in the area of special education funding. > CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE > The information in this email may be confidential and /or privileged. > This > email is intended to be viewed only by the individual or organization > named > above.
