Guest guest
Actually the study was on nearly 200 children-where did you see 26? This is a peer-reviewed manuscript, posted on PubMed. Here is a link to the manuscript: http://www.alternative-therapies.com/ See the title SAAM (Syndrome of Allergy, Apraxia and Malabsorption) listed on the far right column. But I'd be happy to send you a copy of this manuscript in PDF, which is easier to send, print and take to your doctor. It includes 'Bloodwork To Consider', which are basic labs your pediatrician can test for. A higher than expected % of apraxic kids are gluten intolerant and deficient in carnitine & other vitamins. It's especially important to test for carnitine deficiency, since it's dangerous to be low and simple/safe to supplement. This manuscript describes a common metabolic syndrome in apraxic kids. Dr. is currently applying for grant funding to run controlled clinical trials. But that will take *years* to complete. In the meanwhile, many of our kids may benefit from safe, simple nutritional intervention. This truly is a landmark study. I'd love to see it permanently included in the 'folders' section of this group for easy reference to newcomers. (The majority of the participants in this study are members of this group. Dr. conducted a survey & collected labs parents had run on their children here on CHERAB about 2 years ago.) Very exciting stuff:-)!!
