Guest guest
Lorene, You asked about my son's birthmom and dyspraxia..... I am not entirely sure what's truly going on with her. She's been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but her symptoms are very severe and she has definite motor planning problems. I am in touch with her regularly, and have " poked " around in the family's history. It seems that she had some motor planning issues as a child, but they were somewhat subtle.....hard to keep balance, not paying attention to where she was/walking into walls/unable to ride the family pony, etc..... From 16 - 18, she just started fading away. Lots of confusion, inability to think clearly, spaciness, tremmors, inablity to focus, developed social issues.....couldn't get along with peers.....then she began to have breakdowns. Then came the meds. She's now in assisted living. There's research that links celiac and schizophrenia.....and my son is highly allergic to gluten/gliaden/wheat/oats/rye. Perhaps that's the main problem with her, too. There's also research out there that links heavy metal toxicity, yeast and celiac to schizophrenia. And there's also research that shows fish oils being very effective for adhd and bipolar disorder. Whatever the case, I take nothing for granted, and I know that I'm on the right track by supplementing, changing my son's diet, and addressing issues of metal toxicity. My son is doing AMAZINGLY well, too. At some point, I'm going to look at lymes, because the symptoms of lymes and autism/dyspraxia/mental illness are very similar -- and they all respond to biomedical interventions.....but, of course, not 100% of the time. _________________________________________________________________ The i’m Talkaton.
