The Center 2008 June Newsletter

The Center, Mt. Arlington, NJ Presents

June 2008 Monthly Newsletter

Greetings from Succasunna, NJ! We finally moved and have officially

reopened. We missed our family of client friends so it was good to see

everyone again. I also want to thank all of our friends who helped with our

move. We had so many hands that we finished in very little time. The delay

in opening was with the Building Inspector and our Contractor but all is

finalized and we love our new space! Everyone has remarked that it is a

warm, friendly space and we are glad!

Grand Opening Celebration!

Saturday, June 14, 2008 will be our official Grand Re-Opening Celebration

from 1-4 PM. We hope many of you will be able to come. We will be giving

away a free Diagnostic Evaluation every hour. We have coupons for 5, 10,

and 15 % off coupons for therapy. We have free CD coupons and coupons for

free sessions on our Sound Relaxation Bed. We also have coupons for free

vocal analysis for specific issues. We will have a video showing

continuously about our concept, which is now called The Model of Sound

Intervention ®. Come see us in our new Center jackets. We will have

refreshments to share. Thank you already to the many who have said they

would visit that day. I hope we see many more of you. Come see why we are

so pleased with our move!

Summer Sessions Starting

Our summer session started a day late because of the Building Inspector but

we are in full swing for a wonderful sound-energizing summer. There are

still a few time slots left for AIT and our Listening Training Programs

(Tomatis and EnListen) but they are filling up quickly. If interested,

please reach out to , our Office Manager, at npdunn@...

for availability.

Summer Home Sessions

As you can imagine, our home programs are very popular. The equipment is

constantly in use and there is a waiting list for many of the therapies. As

summer is often the easiest time for parents to administer therapy, a home

summer program is especially enticing. Because of the demand, we have

ordered a few more systems so that we can help more of you during the summer

months. Please check with npdunn@... for availability.

Testing Outreaches

There has been a great interest in outreaches for Ms. 's Diagnostic

Evaluation. Ms. will go to a location and test, and then we offer

home programs to follow the protocol. We are looking to schedule these

Diagnostic Evaluation Outreaches in Idaho and Philadelphia in the fall.

There has also been a large interest for the Chicago area. Anyone

interested in hosting this Outreach, please contact Ms. at

ddavis@.... The required number of 12 people should not be

difficult to obtain because the interest surpasses that number. We just

need someone to host it. We look forward to coming to the Chicago area also

in the fall.

Speaking Engagements

Ms. 's next speaking engagement is the Learning Brain Expo in Orlando

FL from July 25-27, 2008. This should be a wonderful conference! You can

register for it at http://www.brainexpo.com/register.asp.

She had a full travel schedule for presentations in April and May. It was

exciting to have a local parent present at most of the presentations who

wanted to share in the excitement of their child's progress.

Video Available

If you are looking for a speaker for the fall, let us know. Ms. is

available locally in the NJ, NY, and Pennsylvania area. However, we now

have available a video that can be used for a Parent Support Group meeting

introducing The Model of Sound Intervention ®. We are pleased to

offer this DVD to anyone interested. It is approximately 20 minutes in

length and provides an overview of this new model. It is the concept for

the future of any sound-based therapy.

Radio Show

Ms. has her own radio show on www.autismone.org and recently at their

annual conference, she was interviewed by Rob Sidell, who is doing a series

on the many alternative methods available for autistic children. This show

will air Friday June 13 at 3 PM on www.autismone.org radio.

New Book

Developmental Delay Resources Founder, S. Lemer, is the Editor of a

new publication called Envisioning A Bright Future: Interventions that Work

for Children and Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders. This book is a must

guide for parents, professionals, educators, and adults searching for

guidance with autism, ADD and learning disabilities. Ms. has a

chapter in this book on Sound-based therapies with comment from Dr.

Edelson of the Autism Research Institute. The book can be obtained from

Optometric Extension Program Foundation, Inc 949 250 8070. The ISBN:

978-0-92-9780-17-5.

If you wish to be removed from our mailing list, please respond to this
