Wondering if my two year old son might benefit from his little sister's

cord blood... (if they are compatible) Might speech apraxia

be " cured? " He has been diagnosed with hypotonic cerebral palsy...

with speech apraxia as a symptom (?) Anyone else hear anything about

cord blood help?

THere was a recent article in a local paper about cord blood helping some

kids with CP, and someone posted on a local group that the Dr. Show or

something like that had some kids that were helped on today.

I've never heard of it being a treatment for apraxia.

In Canada approximately about January of this year (?)..... I saw a TV newscast

of a CP toddler who had been completely cured of ALL his symptoms using his own

cord blood.

Believe me, this is worth looking into!

Turn on the Doctors right NOW and they are showing a CP child who underwent

this procedure at Duke University! Talk about timing....

If you miss it, there is probably a repeat tonight or go to their website for

more information.

Janice,

My dear friend at work is headed to duke for this very procedure! She is

scheduled for May 2009. She is in the first stages of evaulation. I shall

keep you all posted on this!

I may put her on the board tomorrow.

Hi,

I just returned from Duke this evening after having my daughter reinfused with

her cord blood. She has CP, and apraxia and dysarthria as well. The doctor told

me that it takes several months for the cells to have any affect, but I will

post if we do see any good results. I am hoping for speech improvement more than

anything else.

Who do you talk to or how do you go about this process? I have just stored some

from my baby and wondering if this could help my oldest daughter with apraxia

and other learning disabilities..
