What brands of Vitamin E? Can you buy alpha/ gamma combo? When to start?

I mentioned that Nick's sensory issues had really flared up last week.

( /message/85108)

He's not doing much better. Some days he's (mostly) fine, but some days

he's looking for a lot of input, even with the massages and the little

trampoline. He's very tantrum-y now. And as luck would have it, I gave

him 1 speak on Monday instead of the NN, and he seemed a little calmer

on Tues (in time for his OT), but today, back to refusing to sit still

or focus for Speech. He eventually does what she asks, but you can see

he's not his normal self.

Anyway, the search feature is down again (or maybe it's still down). I

know that it's a 1/1 alpha/gamma ratio to start. What brands are

popular? Do I need to buy separate alpha/ gamma or can they come in one

capsule? I see d-alpha everywhere in the stores, but I'm sure gamma

comes from at least a vitamin shoppe or GNC if not online. What dosage

of each do I start with?

Most importantly, I want to stop the fish oil in time for Nick's speech

eval through the school (no date on that yet, but everything has to be

done by mid-december). I've heard that you shouldn't stop vit E the way

you stop fish oil. So should I just hold off on giving him the E until

after the speech eval? Will there be any long term damage from a vit E

deficiency? Or should I just stop the fish oil until the eval, putting

his sensory back in check, but losing everything speech related that

we've gained until then?
