They can actually be handy if you are starting at a lower dose and working up over time...the juniors are easier for this because it is already a pre-dose of 1/2 the adult capsule amount. The adult ones will be more cost-efficient once you are giving a full dose of one or two adult size capsules.
Guest guest
Thank you all for responding. What I have been given my son is the finest pure fish oil with essential oil of orange by pharmax. It has 750 mg of DHA and 1050 mg of EPA per 1 tsp. Has anyone heard of it? Should I switch him to the adult Nordic Naturals 3-6-9. I bough the jr. version but I am sure that Whole Foods would let me return it. Guest guest
Cris, will most likely respond with more info, but just by looking the EPA ratio is much higher than this list has had success with. According to what seems to work for a lot of people here, the 3 DHA to 1 EPA is the ideal one with additional E as the child can tolerate or needs--this point is being debated, but the DHA / EPA ratio has been pretty consistent. And just a side note, I had been giving my daughter fish oil since birth, but she was not absorbing, we worked on the absorption part--still working on it, but when we added the PRO EFA / EPA and then the E and have had the best results. Her speech is really improving every day. All the best, Elena From: Cris Barker <crisbarker1@...> Subject: Re: [ ] Re: Fish oil question - so sorry! Guest guest
Thanks Elena. When you say 3 Dha and 1 EPA you mean capsules or teaspoons? And what is E? And how about the cod liver oil that some people are talking about? This board is so helpful... Than ks everyone.
