Guest guest
Thank you very much for sharing something so wonderful... Do you know what type of treatment her son received and what age was he able to finally conquer apraxia? From: Buchanan <lisambuch@...> Subject: [ ] Success story about adult w/apraxia Date: Sunday, November 30, 2008, 5:43 PM Hi all, Just thought I'd share this story...a few days ago I saw a woman we hadn't seen in about a year, and I was telling her about our son's recently diagnosed apraxia. She immediately said how familiar she is with apraxia because her own son had it (he also had fine motor issues and auditory processing problems.) He's now in his early 20s, in college, and is doing wonderfully! Back then, she knew no one else with apraxia (this was, as she put it, in the " pre-Internet days " ). I was very encouraged by hearing this success story about apraxia and how everything worked out for so well for her son, so I figured I'd pass it along. Hopefully it will give you all the same encouragement it did for me! B.
Guest guest
She mentioned that he received speech therapy in the early years of grade school and that his speech issues and fine motor problems were pretty much resolved by around 3rd grade. However, he did still struggle with ADD and auditory processing problems throughout grade school and high school. So it was definitely amazing to hear what a successful, well-adjusted adult he's become! :-) From: Buchanan <lisambuch (DOT) com> Subject: [childrensapraxiane t] Success story about adult w/apraxia @groups. com Date: Sunday, November 30, 2008, 5:43 PM Hi all, Just thought I'd share this story...a few days ago I saw a woman we hadn't seen in about a year, and I was telling her about our son's recently diagnosed apraxia.
