Welcome Liz! be sure to read the book and focus initially on the chapter on

crossing the abyss. it is tempting to not go through the steps but these

steps build a foundation for success. join in with any comments and

questions and let us know how you are doing. Kit

Thanks for the welcome! I guess you would say I'm on

day 1. I did my first upper body work out today. I

know I'll be crying on Monday, but I'm determined.

Kirsteen:

All you questions are answered in Dr. Bruce Fife's books that you can order from

www.coconutresearchcenter.com and he also has some articles there to download.

Be prepared to be amazed by this VCO.

Newbie Alert!

Ok, I admit it, I'm a total newbie so will probably ask questions that have

already been discussed loads of times :-) However I'm quite thick skinned so

feel free to point me to the archives or anywhere else I can find info.

Anyway I have various health issues, the most recent being chronic fatigue

and chronic nausea. I've heard so much about the benefits of VCO that I've

taken out a second mortgage (Only joking but that stuff's expensive :-)

Well i now have a suply of VCO but am not sure what to do with it.

One article I read said to start with a teaspoonful a day and work up. Is

this necesary and how long do I take to work up and to what sort of optimum

amount?

Yesterday I fried some veggies and fish in it and added some curry spices

and absolutely loved the taste. But I'd really appreciate any other ideas on

how to take it. I'm trying to ose weight and follow a low carb diet. so how

do you all take it and how much do you take?

Any answers gratefully appreciated.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply. That's a fantastic site. I've read and dowloaded lots

of the articles and I've ordered 3 of the books. Looking forward to them

arriving.

There's lots of other places to find out more info. on VCO, this

site is great support in taht cause. MY VERY favorite is:

www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com, next up is:

Tropicaltraditions.com , I know that there's a multitude of others,

but, as of now THOSE are my favorites!! PLEASE do your self a favor,

if you want to loose weight, and check out the book, by Enig,

and Sally Fallon: (I believe it's called,[i've purchased and read

the book, but it's loaned out at the time! DRAT! HATE WHEN THAT

HAPPENS!!] " Eat Fat Lose Fat " ) Very good read...the things that you

will learn will PROBABLY...really piss you off!! I know how upset I

was after my first read!!

Good Luck to you! By the way, I'm down 35 LBS.!!!

Thanks. I'm having a fantastic time reading all the info. I've also ordered

the book you mentioned 'Eat Fat Lose Fat and, while on Amazon ordering it

got seduced by their cookbook 'nourishing traditions' so I've ordered it as

well.

I actually came to VCO through low carbing so I'm already quite comfortable

with saturated fats but I know what you mean about getting really angry

about the misinformation we're all fed. My son keeps reminding me that

shouting 'Idiots!' at the TV doesn't work :-)

Congrats on the weight loss. I originally lost 45lbs low carbing about 8

years ago, maintained it for several years and then 'drifted'. yo-yo'd for

a while and then kind of abandoned it and was shocked on returning from

holiday just over a month ago to find I was heavier than I'd ever been :-(

so it's back to the low carb, healthy, sensible eating. this time I do

accept it's for life.

I'm enjoying the VCO and will stick with it as well. Already (after 2 days)

I feel an improvement. Don't know whether it's real or psychosomatic but,

frankly, don't care. Feeling better I do care about ;-)

Anyway enough rambling, back to reading :-)

cheers

Kirsteen,

I'm SOOOO glad that YOU ordered Nourishing Traditions, also!!!

There's SOO much good info. in there! Read the outside margins,

glance at the recipies as you go, then go back and attack the good

food! You don't necessarily have to " Low Carb " , to eat well and

loose weight! OH, what an adventure you are in for! Start with

either book, the info. is amazing!

Good Luck!

I just want to mainly say welcome as I am sure I'm not qualified to

help. This group is a wealth of information. My 3 year old son was

diagnosed last spring with aprxia and I too loved reading the late

talker book. In addition to his much loved speech therapist I highly

recommend proefa as it's made such a huge difference in my son. In

the past few months my son has gone from being nonverbal to where

he's trying to say sentences! The other day he handed me a picture he

drew and said " me make you pitter for you mommy " I almost fell over

in shock! My son started on just one capsule of proefa and then we

went up to two and not long ago added one proepa. I first bought the

fish oil at Whole Foods but now buy it from the cherub store

http://www.shop-in-service.com/proefa.htm You sound like a wonderful

mom and I know you will learn so much more here!

Kate- Thanks for the kind words!

Ike has about 50 words, and talks in sentences. However, it is very garbled

and unintelligible. I can get about 30% of what he says, and a stranger, may

understand 10%. I am pleased with the progress. ( At age 2, 10 words). I also

know we have a long way to go..... Well, time to get the kids up and ready for

school. Have a good day everyone!
