Guest guest
We asked my son's PT about it, but he said the hippotherapy he is getting does the same thing. (same outcome) I am not sure how accurate that is? But I do hear that Craniosacral therapy is good...as well as hippotherapy. > > Has anyone had any success with cranial sacral work with apraxia? Guest guest
I have just started taking my 6 year old son for craniosacral therapy...He does seem to be more talkative...and with longer more complex sentences.? Just today I took him and the therapist told me that he did feel a lot of restrictions and that when he was " working " on one of them, is the same time that my son got all squirmy and starting moving all around .. How in the world can the therapists concentrate during that?? It is so fascinating to me.? We will keep it up and see what happens.? [ ] cranial sacral work and apraxia? Guest guest
My daughter has global delays and has been seeing a cranial sacral therapist since she was about 1 (she's 2.5). I immediately saw a different in sensory processing. Soon after I saw an increase in babbling & verbalizing. She had a lot of tightness in the mouth/throat area that the therapist worked on and I think that had a lot to do with it. We have appointments anywhere from 2-4x/month. > > Has anyone had any success with cranial sacral work with apraxia? Guest guest
I wasn't the original poster, but I thought I'd chime in. A good website that has lots of info is http://www.cranialacademy.org You can use it to search for qualified practitioners in your area. Cranial osteopathy has helped our son (he has apraxia and PDD-NOS) with some good speech gains immediately following the treatments, and it helped my nephew with sleeping issues, so I'm personally a huge fan of cranial osteopathy. It's incredibly gentle, here's a video from YouTube that shows what treatments look like: HTH, (Mom to 3 year-old twins, and Cecilia) How did you find the therapist to do this work and if you don't mind to tell who and where?
