Guest guest
it DOES make sense, thank you for the suggestion! We're giving the Wii to the whole family as our big gift, so that's a great idea. I wasn't sure if it was any good for the older ones-- but I think that pretty much everything they do for the Wii will be great for our Neuro kids bek In a message dated 12/2/2008 11:08:04 A.M. Guest guest
Do you think that the Wii (music or anything else in particular) would be beneficial for my 3 yr old son -- verbal apraxia, sensory issues and mild autism? My 11 yr old has a Wii (he worked his Grandma for it!) and he has Asperger's - loves the Wii and other video games. His doctor says video games are actually GOOD for him - his need for repetition and working his hands. What about my little one, though? Any thoughts? Guest guest
We love WiiSports - my daughter (4 1/2) has bowled in the 150's. She does have hypotonia and some mild motor coordination issues, so I use that as an excuse to play a few extra games with her. > > i have to warn you.....it can be addictive!!! Guest guest
-- a RESOUNDING YESSSS! Get your younger son with the issues onto the Wii! Now-- I happen to be one of those " mean moms " that feels that you should be super careful with content so I would avoid those video type games and such Stick with the Wii Fit and the Wii Sports and things like the Wii Fishing, Golf, Kart, Wii Outdoors, and Wii skiing-- all of these are SUPER GOOD for the motor planning/eye/hand stuff They use the Wii with Asa and another child at the Dev Ctr for their therapy sessions Both are around a similar age-- with similar neural issues or weaknesses, so they are well matched for games-- but they take the last 10min or so of the session and the boys get to play the Wii works beautifully-- and that's actually WHY we bought the Wii for our Christmas big gift for the whole family-- to make it a good Therapy time Bek In a message dated 12/4/2008 7:51:07 A.M.
