Guest guest
I'm looking for the opinion of this group. My 3 year old son currently has speech 1x a week for 1/2 hr with a private prompt trained SLP and has speech 2x a week at school. In my opinion, he is progressing with his speech though he still needs to learn to speak in longer sentences and have better articulation. The private SLP says he is mildly delayed in receptive language but severely delayed in expressive language. My son's DAN doctor suggested that I take my son for an evaluation to see McNish (formerly with the Kessler Institute) for an extensive evaluation. Before I spend money for yet another evaluation I want to make sure that it is necessary. What will McNish tell me that is different from what the SLP is currently telling me. Is she reputable in the speech world? Has anyone in the NJ area had perform an evaluation for their child? What is your opinion?
