Just wanted to post a graduation update for Tanner. He's just

graduated from 5th grade and being he's doing so well and offered to

say something, the head of school chose Tanner to be on of the

handful of 5th graders that made a short speech about the graduating

8th graders. He wrote down some notes -but told me he was going

to " just say what he thought " Tanner's at a point where I can give

suggestions but he likes to do things on his own. He wrote his own

notes and was very comfortable in just talking he said. We all know

that even when doing well if you have an impairment in speech when

under stress or tired you can break down. He did make it appear as

if he wasn't going to be nervous.

As well as Tanner's speech is doing now

http://www.debtsmart.net/talk/tanner.html standing up on the stage

with the microphone in front of the room filled with parents and

students I guess he did get nervous after all. It was clear he had a

speech impairment -but he did mangage to say most of what he wanted

to. Glenn recorded the entire thing but don't think I want to put it

up anywhere. Poor little guy knows when his speech is " bumpy " but we

all cheered him when he was finished. I'm so proud of him for trying

for sure. At least in normal situations his speech for the most part

is fairly normal now!
