Guest guest
Yesterday my kids and I went to the Mayo Clinic for step 1 in an r/x for apraxia. We (my oldest son, and Ike the patient, and myself)met with a Dr Kotagal. A nice little Indian man, whom Ike took a shine to right away. Dr K ordered an IQ test, and a blood test. He felt that Ike has a fine motor delay, and that apraxia is the right avenue to persue. Yeah! It is nice to have an offical r/x for the fine motor delay. Now we can add it officaly to the IEP, instead of " something to watch " as it is labeled now. He praised me for getting Ike in, and persuing it. The 16th foor of the Mayo Building is set up for Ped patients, and it was fantastic! The waiting room was so nice for the kids. A couple of tv's playing kid friendly movies, lots of childfriendly furniture, lots of room for the kids to roam, and look at! A great atmosphere.
