Guest guest
Hello I just learned about this group yesterday. I read a PDF research paper... http://www.alternative-therapies.com/resources/web_pdfs/recent/0709_morris.pdf This research article brought this group to my attention. My son is 3 years and 4 months old. He has several challenges including the following... Verbal Apraxia/Dyspraxia/Apraxia of his Limbs GERD Benign Rolandic Epilepsy Failure to Thrive - 26lbs bd 2/12/06 Not Digesting his protien ?Fat Malabsorption - tiny guy even though I add oil and protien powder to his milk. Carnitine Deficiency Low Muscle Tone High Pain Tolerance - does not always recognize pain for what it is (this makes blood work easy) I am really excited about the above article. I would like become involved in the studies that Dr. may do in the future. Can anyone tell me more about the study. I already brought the research paper to my doctor and said " see I told you all his challenges are related " . I have a great relationship with our doctor. He is going to order the tests suggested in the article next Tuesday. I have been discouraged many times about my sons apraxia and am excited about the article and excited about this group. We have a great Speech Therapist through Early Intervention and then we travel weekly for PT, OT, and speech at a Childrens Therapy Corner. My son was saying about 15 words and counting to 5 until around 18-20 months when he went silent. Last summer we started speech therapy. has made huge leaps and is now trying to communicate. It is often hard to understand and garbled, but he can say 3-4 garbled word sentences and loves to use ASL. Thank you again for this wonderful group. I look forward to helping support others going through this with their child and being supported by others who who deal with similar challenges. Thank you!
