Guest guest
Hi -  Josh used only the " ba " syllable for everything at the time I started him on fish oils - 8 years ago. He also does not move his tongue - muscle tone issues, dysarthria, oral defensiveness. He started saying words within 3 weeks of starting on fish oils, hasn't stopped talking since, but still does not stick his tongue out even with all sorts of therapies. As one SLP just explained it to me when he went through yet another speech eval, the tongue is the most sensitive area of the body with the sensitivies increasing toward the back of the tongue - " ba " , then, is a really good thing since it uses only the front part of the mouth and the outer part of the lips. The ability to say the other sounds, and use the tongue more, will come in time as the sensitivities are dealt with. What about your child's muscle issues?  Sherry and Josh
