Guest guest
We don't need the proloquo2go or I would have for sure gotten this already. But want to try to help you. Prior to offering to pay someone to tutor you how to use I'd explore other options. It as it appears to me that most would be happy to help you for free either because A. they too care for a child with special needs and want to reach out to you just as families and professionals here do all the time. B. they have a employee, employer, owner financial interest in prologue2go or iTouch and are paid to help you. I found this page http://www.proloquo2go.com/Support which appears to me to be a good place to start to find the As and Bs I speak of above: Get Support for Proloquo2Go Frequently Asked Questions Our FAQ provides answers to the most commonly asked questions. Guest guest
I have to say that it is disappointing that you did not get a quick or helpful reply. I have found that with any AAC system, a key to success is the company providing timely and helpful responses. It may be that we will find that Proloquo with iPod is a cheaper alternative to other AAC devices, but the tech support may also be limited (no sales reps to come demonstrate the app or provide ongoing support, no phone in support hot line, etc). That said, I have not had the opportunity to get my hands on Proloquo due to the price of the app. My daughter doesnt' need the program, I don't have any clients that are using it and I can't justify spending $200.00 just because I would like to play with it. I wish they would offera free trial for 30 days, so that more SLPs would have the opportunity to take it for a test drive. While I am intrigued with all the videos I have seen, I can't recommend something that I haven't had the chance to use. Have you asked your SLP if she can help you? If one of my clients needed help, I would jump at the chance to utilize the program. When using an AAC system, it is important to have a SLP involved to help with appropraite vocabulary selection, etc. Another possiblity may be to look for an AAC clinic at a local University, or your closest Children's Hospital (most children's hospitals have AAC experts on staff). I wish I could be of more help. Best wishes, Deb (mom of 4, one with apraxia and certified SLP) http://speechgadget.blogspot.com/ <http://speechgadget.blogspot.com/> http://twitter.com/SpeechGadgetDeb <http://twitter.com/SpeechGadgetDeb> > HI > Thanks.
