Guest guest
Hi Greta! First about the fish oils -did you say you are using 2 ProEFA and 2 ProEPA? I found my son Tanner regressed a bit on the one to one ratio -I found the 2 ProEFA to 1 ProEPA to be better. Try cutting the ProEPA down one and see if you notice any more surge. Yes I just posted that the essential fatty acids (the fish oils) and the essential amino acids and nutrients from whole food sources (nutriiveda) appear to compliment each other as both support the metabolic system and both contain essential nutrients (essential means the body needs it but can't assimilate it so needs to consume it -but think of what most kids eat). I have a page here on basic questions and answers about nutriiveda http://pursuitofresearch.org/faq.html and why to please purchase through this site as it supports the Cherab Foundation http://pursuitofresearch.org/pursuit.html as we are raising money for fish oil research (I know I know -but 2 things -when we started we didn't think this was something that was going to help the kids...and besides if you look at who is behind this we won't have to raise money for nutriiveda research!!!) When you order through Pursuitofresearch.org you would only need one canister a month. And right after you order call up and " pause " your next shipment and schedule it for every other month once you know it's working- or you can cancel any future shipments. There is a toll free number to call. As far as chocolate or vanilla...the question is does your child like chocolate milk because if the answer is yes I would stick with chocolate as you can just mix it with Nesquick or Hershey's syrup to " doctor " it up to start and gradually reduce the other stuff so it's more nutriiveda (or NV as most call it now) Keep in mind NV has no fat, no sodium, and only 2 grams of organic can sugar per scoop -so not quite what most kids today are used to in our high fat, sodium, sugar dietary world! You can also mix the chocolate into pudding or make it into a creamy milkshake and freeze it into Popsicles. The vanilla is great for those kids that either don't really like chocolate, or prefer fruit smoothies as it mixes well with any type of fruit juice like orange, pineapple, mango, strawberry etc. It's also white so easier to hide in food like oatmeal and yogurt. Remember you don't want to cook with it as that can compromise the essential fatty acids. Each serving of nutriiveda contains ALL of the essential amino acids needed a day which is rare. Typically you have to consume a varied diet to get all of the essential amino acids. What's great about this is the exact blend of essential amino acids have been linked to neuro repair in recent research as I have up here on the theory page http://pursuitofresearch.org/science.html Any other questions please let us know! =====
Guest guest
Thanks ! Is there a way to only order ONE can? And yes, I will order from pursuit of research for sure! I just read about that before you replied. Guest guest
Greta yes sure you can purchase just one canister of nutriiveda from http://www.speech411.com Once you know it's working it's better to order from http://www.pursuitofreesearch.org also at wholesale cost - not only due to the fundraiser but because the shipping from Zrii is cheaper through UPS then what we can do through USPS -even with online printing of the shipping labels which is typically the cheapest. Anyone that ships will know what I'm talking about -I don't know how they do it -but very cool. =====
Guest guest
I'm off to read around a bit and see what everyone has to say! Guest guest
...do you have any special spots to look for posts? I'm very knowledgeable on the whole fish oils and Nutriveda, and that sort of thing. But, I was just looking to read some experiences. I know it's all dependent on the child, but still looking to read around. Guest guest
Hi Greta, Do you mean personal experiences posted about nutriiveda? All the testimonies here http://pursuitofresearch.org/testimonials.html are parents or professionals from this group- you can search under any of the names and email any of them. From what I have found any would be happy to speak with you and share. The word nutriiveda is tough to archive because so many spell it wrong nutriveda, nutraveda etc. but if you search under any spelling you'll get lots of messages since we've started talking about it. Lots use the shortened NV but not all. If you meant more than just a quick update...We have a few parents that have started blogs- Sherry just posted her link, but other parents that have kids on nutriiveda include Sharon http://vraciufamily.blogspot.com/search/label/apraxia , Gretchen http://www.walsh101.typepad.com , and of course Robin for http://littlemermaidmelanie.wordpress.com/ This is my original letter as to why I brought this to this group -how it all happened http://pursuitofresearch.org/letter_lisa.html But yes lots in the archives and shockingly far more off list going on -some of the doctors and therapists I've spoken to for example share with me what they are seeing but few write about it. There are also a few parents that are also research scientists -one who told me she would post her autistic son's updates but still hasn't here yet. If you'd like to talk to Dawen she said she is willing to talk to others...actually Dawen you said you would at this point write here!!! But anyway I can get you in touch with probably at this point just about any parent of any type of condition you are looking for who has a child on nutriiveda. Worst case appears to be subtle vs the dramatic results which Gretchen (a scientist and MD) talks about here for her own son http://pursuitofresearch.org/science.html I can tell you without a doubt that I've never in my life seen anything ever work so incredibly well for so many children of so many ages and conditions. And it's healthy for the diet too?! And we don't really get into it but the other aspect is that nutriiveda appears to be human Miracle-Gro -measure your child's height and weight prior to starting and then just even a month later and you tell me if it's not off the charts. You actually can see them growing in front of your eyes -and it's not just me saying this it's those of us who have had our children on it for months. Again clearly we are providing nutrients that their bodies needed. Again I have read The Genius in All of Us and in this book the author talks about how even if genetically you are able to reach the height of 6 foot, with poor nutrition you may be 5 inches shorter. The feedback from anyone trying nutriiveda is almost hard for me to believe- and I've seen it myself in my own boys. Again the only logical explanation is that it's providing essential nutrients that were missing in most of our diets. The research is going to be a slam dunk -and exciting. Or am I misunderstanding what you are looking for? Let me know -I'm sure I can help! =====
Guest guest
That's exactly what I'm looking for!!!! Thank you so much!!!! I'm so excited! I ordered one can from speech 411 this morning and I'm sure I'll be ordering more in the future from pursuit of research! I'm so thankful for this community and I appreciate all the work that is put into helping all of us!!!! > > Hi Greta, > > Do you mean personal experiences posted about nutriiveda? Guest guest
I do have a couple more questions... 1. Am I recalling correctly that I start out at 1/2 a dose for a few days and then increase to full dose? Full dose for my 2.11 year old would be 1 scoop per day? I plan to mix it with a cup of cow's milk or almond milk and that should do it for him. This kid loves his lemon candies (NN) so this will probably be like sugar for him Silly boy. 2. What do I keep reading about making sure they have enough liquids throughout the day? He drinks about 24 oz of milk each day plus at least few cups of water for sure. What's the exact amount of liquid needed? I just got my ship notice Thanks again! Greta
Guest guest
I’m no expert but I know they say you can start at ½ dose at first if you want and then go up or do half in the morning and half later. I started at one scoop pretty much with my 2 and 3 year olds. My boys LOVE it with almondmilk. I tasted it and it tested like melted chocolate ice cream to me… yum! They drink it even faster if I use vanilla almondmilk, but I usually use plain. I read on here I believe that a good rule is multiply your child’s weight by .6 to see how much fluids to drink (but remember food has water too). I just started my sons on it a few weeks ago so I had these questions too and I believe I remember them right from my research on old posts and emails to and Barbara. Guest guest
This is one of the pages I shared with my pediatrician to answer the type of questions you have (who approved nutriiveda for my son) Did you miss this page when you ordered? http://pursuitofresearch.org/faq.html Kate > > I'm no expert but I know they say you can start at ½ dose at first if you > want and then go up or do half in the morning and half later.
