Guest guest
Hi, I love the product, however I am frustrated beyond words with the fact that the nutriiveda container is promoted as lasting for a month when giving 2 scoops twice a day. I wish this were true I run out every month and this May was the worst. I strongly question the number of scoops per container. Each container should contain at least 60 scoops to equal 120 scoops. To be a company with integrity, each container should have 62 scoops to allow for the months that have 31 days. I am embarrassed to say that when I get the next shipment I am going to measure out the exact number of scoops. I do not complain about the cost of the product and shipping and handling at $87.00 a month but please make sure it lasts a month, things are tough enough without being nickled and dimed to death worrying about having enough scoops at the end of the month. Please consider going the extra yard and come from a place of integrity add a bit more so parents like me can relax and worry about other things, like helping our children find their voices. Thank you.
Guest guest
Hi Jane! I have a few suggestions. On each canister it says at 2 scoops a day it should last for 15 days http://pursuitofresearch.org/Choco_NutritionFacts.pdf or http://pursuitofresearch.org/Vanilla_NutritionFacts.pdf -so yes 2 canisters 15 + 15 should last one month if used 2 scoops a day. The problem is either A. You are using heaping scoops B. You didn't shake the canister prior to using. For the second that comes from quite a few of the members here that use it -even though it's not flour -for example when you bake they want you to make sure the flour is fluffy and not compacted (while brown sugar you want compacted) So what you may want to do is " fluff up " the powder by shaking it a bit as you use it (make sure the top is sealed or you will once again be short powder!!) Also it's good to turn it upside down and shake - help bring that scooper up to the top! I have checked and there are 30 scoops per canister but yes you can to -they stand behind their product. Not that I doubted it but when I travel I typically take nutriiveda out of the canister and put it into a large zip lock with the scooper for my family -and I have to count out the scoops. You are correct that they only give 30 scoops per canister -so no matter what on months if using just one scoop a day there are months with 31 days. But they don't say a one month supply -they just say 15 days per 2 scoops per canister. For parents that use just one scoop a day -one canister should last a month -for the months that have 30 days (or less Here's the guide http://pursuitofresearch.org/faq.html#dosage And here are some tips for flour which again could be used for any powder -including nutriiveda ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There are a number of ways to sift flour: 1. Use a sifter specifically designed for the job (pictured above) - Fill the sifter with flour and either shake or squeeze the handle. Make sure the flour lands in a bowl, onto a surface covered with wax paper or into a measuring cup. 2. Use a fine mesh sieve - Place the flour in a mesh sieve and shake it gently, allowing the flour to flow through and into a bowl, onto a surface covered with wax paper or into a measuring cup. Word of caution: If your recipe calls for " one cup sifted flour " this means that you sift the flour before measuring. If your recipe calls for " one cup flour, sifted " this means that you sift the flour after measuring. Don't have a sifter or a sieve? Don't worry...use one of the following methods below: * Shake the bowl - Gently shake the bowl of flour to introduce air * Toss like a salad - Lightly lift the flour up into the air with spoons and let it drop back into the bowl * Use a strainer - Stir with a fork and then use a strainer or colander to sift * Whisk - Use a wire whisk or fork to whisk the flour You might notice that some flour packages today are labeled as pre-sifted. This means that the flour was actually sifted prior to packaging. However, due to shipping and handling the flour gets compacted and is usually no longer sifted by the time it gets into your kitchen. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Again don't have to go crazy with it -just shake the canister. For me the compacted powder part is the least of my worries - my scoops are so heaping they are starting to look like little mountains!!! haha =====
