Guest guest
- you might want to try an enzyme for yourself - nattokinase (I think that's how you spell it). It is great for breaking down clots in your blood. > > I am hoping it will be here Monday. I ordered some for DS and also some for me. I am wondering how much you know about it though. I have an auto-immune disease called antiphosolipid antibody syndrome. It can cause blood clots among other things. I read that you shouldn't take this fish oil if you are on an anticoagulant. Does that mean that the fish oil might thin the blood? I would think in my case that would be a good thing. Do you know where I could get any info on that? > > Another thing I just thought I would mention is that with speech therapy my DS has been talking fine for quite a while. He is 5yo. So he is not non-verbal. I am just still hoping this fish oil might help. I sure don't think it will hurt. Is there any reason for him not to take it before his surgery where he is getting tubes in his ears or before his allergy test is done? Thanks! > > REBECCA >
Guest guest
Some doctors recommend stopping the oils before surgery and other doctors don't. (they can't seem to agree!) I would however, check with your doctor to see whether you should take them or not. Fish oils are a great supplement for most and what your body doesn't need, it expels. Most doctors don't really get how much they help kids with apraxia, but most seem to give you the old line of " well, they can't hurt " ! I would check with your doctor just to make sure because of the syndrome you have. I hope you get a positive answer. ________________________________ From: pepperderr <pepperderr2@...> Sent: Friday, September 25, 2009 4:58:09 PM Subject: [ ] I ordered the fish oil I am hoping it will be here Monday. Guest guest
you are right about the fish oil and thinning the blood. My son had a upper and lower GI and we had to be off all fish oils for a couple weeks before hand for that reason > > > > I am hoping it will be here Monday.
