Hi Everyone,

As you all know we are having a walkathon for children with special needs

that is focused on inclusion. I don't mean the type of " inclusion " where we

just sit them in chairs in classrooms either. We are talking about authentic

inclusion where we help them to feel they belong and have the same

opportunities afforded everyone else in life and education. Without it, they

will be permanently excluded when they graduate from high school to only hit

unemployment lines. I know I have worked too hard for my son to see that,

and I will continue to advocate for viable and meaningful outcomes for

people with disabilities. Never has this been more critical than now with

budget cuts.

The Lead Mentors, who are kids 12-18 have never worked harder and have made

great headway for our kids. We are asking for your support and have received

word that Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen will be coming to the walkathon.

The rally is free and we are asking that you purchase and " Include ME! "

t-shirt to make the point clear and united. I know everyone is busy, but we

must take the time to rally for our kids and be heard. They need to be

included in their schools and communities. We are asking you to join us on

May 22, 2010 in Montville Township for the walk. Attached is the flyer with

information. We will have same day registration, but supplies for the

t-shirts are limited so please let us know if you need to purchase some.

Presenting Our Annual Walkathon Festivities!

About the " Include ME! " Walkathon

The purpose of the Walkathon is to promote inclusion

of children with special needs in their communities

and schools. It will be a rally with inspiring speakers

and a release of 200 yellow biodegradable balloons.

There will be games, activities, music, and food. We

are requesting that all attendees wear the yellow

Include ME! t-shirt to promote unity and paint the

Walkathon yellow.

Registration is Free!

You must fill out the registration form below to walk.

Our goal is for every participant to wear a yellow

" Include ME! " t-shirt to this event. The shirt costs

only $10 and will be available while supplies last.

Please place your order early using our t-shirt order

form so that you will have your shirt in time for

both our " Paint the Town Yellow " event on May 21

and our Walkathon on May 22, 2010.

Sponsorship Forms and Prizes

Everyone can help raise money for Pathways by getting

sponsors. You do not have to register or attend

the event. Children 18 years and under can compete

for prizes. The four children raising the most money

will be awarded their choice of the prizes listed below

(i.e., first place winner picks first, second place winner

picks next, and so on). Prizes will be awarded

after the Walk athon at 11:30am at the Community

Park Pavilion. The attached sponsorship form can be

turned in later than the registration form, but no

later than 4:00pm on May 18, 2010. Prizes are:
