Guest guest
I have been doing alot of reading (The LCP Solution, Brain Building Nutrition, the 4 A's Book)but I am STILL confused about supplements and vitamins. has verbal apraxia, low tone and sensory issues. His basic lab work from the neuro appt all came back within normal ranges. He had been on NN 3-6-9 for several months and then we added NN EPA but he started to have fishy smell so we cut out the EPA and just did one tsp NN 3-6-9 per day. The GI does not think he has fat malabsoption. After reading about how most of us now have too much Omega 6 in our systems to a point that it's out of balance with Omega 3, I decided to switch to NN DHA so that he gets more DHA than EPA since he prob already has enough EPA in his system and since DHA is the one most critical for brain function. The NN DHA has a little Vit E in it but I also ordered the Carlson E Gems Elite E 200 IU and will give him 200 IU of that to start and maybe work up to 400 IU. We also just started giving him 1 tsp flax oil per day to make sure he has enough ALA in his system. So now I would also like to add a multi-vitamin supplement to make sure he gets enough Vit B's, C, magnesium, etc. What multi-vitamin would you recommend? I was going to go with Super Nu Thera liquid but it has such a high dose of B6 it makes me nervous. It's like 11,000% of the RDA for B6. That seems a little excessive, no? I would like a liquid supplement because I think that will have betetr absorption than a chewable. Any suggestions? If most ppl use the Super Nu Thera, I'll get it, just wasn't sure why it has SO much B6. We are trying to get in with a DAN dr here but won't get in til Oct at the earliest and don't want to wait another month or so to get started with a multi-vitamin. I also want to ask her to trial the B12 injections with and not sure if such a high dose of B6 would interfere with that. Thanks for any advice!!
