Guest guest
Get Dr. Bock's " The 4 A's " . You can go to " generationrescue " to get more suggestions for books. My advice is to do your homework first. There are a log of things you can do before going to a DAN! We've been going to a DAN! for almost 2 years now and have had incredible improvements. Read first - educate yourself. > > We recently had my son tested for food sensitivities (through a company called ImuPro)and it revealed that he had 71... so, we took the grains out (except rice and corn) two weeks ago and we will do it for at least a year. > > Just read McCarthy's book Mother Warriors and was blown away... more ideas to try! My son doesn't have the autistic symptoms, but since apraxia and autism are both neurologic disorders, it seems only reasonable to try some of the same therapies! So... while we already have altered the diet, we are planning to do some more changes. I am hopeful as he has already made some progress in the two weeks. > > In any case, HAVE ANY OF YOU GONE TO A DAN DOCTOR for help? And, if so, what types of tests were done to check for " gut " issues? > > BACKGROUND DETAILS: my almost 3 year old so NEVER had words... only a complicated raspberry-type sound since he was a baby until " mamamamam " several months ago and then we just got more clear words and word approximations (boy, baby, go-go-go, bye-bye, to name a few)after a chance cranial sacral appt (my friend introduced me to the therapy and paid for the first visit!) > > Thank you! > >
Guest guest
Are you already doing the fish oil supplements? Here is a link from Dr Agin's (The Late Talker) website with more info http://www.dbpny.com/nutrition.html. We do the Nordic Naturals 3-6-9 and the EPA. We are going to see a DAN dr next month to talk about further testing. I just got the 4 A's book (the actual title is Healing the New Childhood Epidemics: Autism, ADHD, Asthma and Allergies) and also The LCP Solution by B Stordy, Ph.D. We are also looking into MB12 shots for to help with speech. I agree with the other poster that you have to do your own research first before you see a DAN. Guest guest
a few of the test we had run for gut issues were: ~tissue Transglutaminase IGA, Serum ~IGA, serum ~fat qualitative, Fecal ~Pancreatic elastase, stool ~food panel IgE (which is a food panel that checks 7 of the most commom allergies, but doen't check for gluten) these are through his insurance out-pocket were: ~Comprehensive food panel, IgG (this food panel checks over 70 foods including gluten and rates the allergy from a 1 to 3) ~Metabolic Analysis profile (this test checks on yeast, bacterial and malabsoption markers, which is neat because one of the markers tells if the child is under stress!!) ~OAT- Orgainic Acid Test (this is one of the first test we did, It is a test that people get when they are baby to make sure levels in the body are where they need to be. To recheck this test by doing it again helped us know where my son's levels where of his body) HTH,
