Guest guest
We've been doing biomedical interventions through a DAN! dr for the past 8 months or so and have seen HUGE improvements since beginning biomed. Our 3 1/2 year-old son had about 20 words before we began biomed, and he's now speaking in 6+ word sentences, singing, and reading. We're still working a lot on articulation, but in general, he's much easier to understand than he once was. The biggest things that have helped him with speech have been MB12 shots, DMG, Levocarnitine, and supplements to help with detox like glutathione and magnesium malate, and we're currently exploring chelation to help pull heavy metals that he's tested positive for. Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, there's a great biomed group that discusses biomedical interventions, it's ApraxiaDyspraxiaBiomedSupport. The parents there are incredibly knowledgeable about all types of biomedical interventions to help with apraxia/dyspraxia. Also, 3 terrific books that focus on biomed are Dr. Bock's " Healing the New Childhood Epidemics " , Sally Kirk's " Hope for the Autism Spectrum " , and Dr. Jacquelyn McCandless' " Children with Starving Brains. " Your child might not be diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, but as our DAN! told us, since apraxia is also neurologically-based, it can often respond to similar biomedical interventions (and in our son's case, while he does have a PDD-NOS diagnosis in addition to the apraxia, our dr said he's much more apraxic than PDD). I definitely think our little guy's improving due to biomed combined with lots of speech therapy, and he's also in a terrific preschool with an awesome teacher. While he still does face challenges, I truly believe that all those things are definitely helping tremendously. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for sharing! Do you have to give other supplements with the MB 12 shots? I read that you need to give folic acid supplements with that. How often do you do the injections? Does insurance cover that at all? Also what is Levocarnitine? Is it a carnitine supplement? What are the benefits? My son has low tone in addition to apraxia and I read that carnitine is sometimes given for low tone. Thanks for any add'l info you can provide. , mom to > > We've been doing biomedical interventions through a DAN! dr for the past 8 months or so and have seen HUGE improvements since beginning biomed. Guest guest
We saw some improvements with biomed/DAN but for us the big change came with homeopathy. My son went from only saying " I want ..... " which was NOT intelligible to 6-9 word sentences a year later that can be understood by most who hear him now and will even do a 2-3 part verbal exchange. He still has many speech issues and articulation problems in comarison to a typical peer but the differences since starting homeopathy has been tremendous. For my son it was far more beneficial than biomed, guess it shows that each child is so different. > > From: Giovetsis <giovetsis@...> > Subject: [ ] Biomedical > > Date: Thursday, August 13, 2009, 4:41 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Yes, I too am doing biomedical with my apraxic 4 year old and have been for 1 1/2 years and Tatyana makes a great statement it needs to be paired with good therapies too. Guest guest
Classical homeopathy. I was initially skeptical but am now a staunch believer in it for my son. I live in Laguna Niguel, CA. We were seeing Dr. Luc but for now are seeing his replacement. All info (including his replacement) is on his site www.drluc.com We are on the waiting list for another homeopath who is some what local and just rec'd a few referrals. Where do you live? > > > > From: Giovetsis <giovetsis@> > > Subject: [ ] Biomedical > > > > Date: Thursday, August 13, 2009, 4:41 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >  > > > > > > > > > > > > Yes, I too am doing biomedical with my apraxic 4 year old and have been for 1 1/2 years and Tatyana makes a great statement it needs to be pair > ed with good therapies too.
